visage 10/11 summer collection

Spring, the most magical season of the year - a time to start afresh and be inspired by colour.

Designer Janine Nuku designed the spring summer collection thinking about colour and the power it has to affect our moods.

“Colour has this amazing ability to calm, relax, uplift and revitalise us,” says Janine. “We experience this everyday in both our surroundings and in the clothes we wear.”

Using the finest natural linen and cotton blends, Janine has put together a collection of unstructured knits and wovens that breathe with light, airy textures. Key pieces from the range include a long line linen waistcoat teamed with tapered pants, a tunic with bias cut front, a fitted jacket with fringe detailing and a cocooned skirt in broken up checks. Luxurious transparent knits are fashioned into an eyelet sweater and a long flowing origami tunic that drapes into folds. There is a gorgeous polka dot top with split sleeves and a cute little bubble textured cardigan that looks fantastic in the brights. There are waistcoats either long or cropped, which team beautifully with the must-have white artist shirt with a crinkle finish. An intasia striped dress is another seasonal must-have. This piece looks great with the long line cardigan, or can also be worn as a tunic over slim pants or under a cropped cardigan for a layered look.

Colours begin with a sophisticated palette of white, eggshell, pipi and iron. Followed by a warm and vibrant summer of sunflower, tangelo, aphid, iris and cherry for a burst of energy.

We think of the Visage philosophy as being real, never artificial. This begins with the natural yarns and fabrics we choose, through to the stories that evolve as we bring the collection together. Ultimately, this results in clothes for women who are themselves real.
